William E. Dager, Pharm.D., FCSHP

Dr. William Dager

William E. Dager, Pharm.D., FCSHP is a Pharmacist Specialist at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, Clinical Professor of Pharmacy-UCSF School of Pharmacy, and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine (Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine), UC Davis School of Medicine. He also serves as an American Heart Association Affiliate Faculty in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

After receiving his doctorate of pharmacy from the UCSF School of Pharmacy, he completed residency training at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. His initial practice involved critical care surgery and medicine, which evolved into a specialty practice that included implementation of an inpatient anticoagulation service.

Dr. Dager presently serves as a preceptor for pharmacy and medical students and residents in the area of anticoagulation, pharmacokinetics and cardiology. He has been involved in numerous research projects, several as principle investigator, on antithrombotic therapy. The author of numerous papers in the area of anticoagulation, he also serves as a reviewer for several biomedical journals and is currently on the editorial board for The Annals of Pharmacotherapy, where he Chair's the Panel on Anticoagulation. The recipient of several teaching awards, he is a Fellow of the California Society of Health System Pharmacists and a member of the Anticoagulation Forum, American Society of Health System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.

Dr. Dager has served as a consultant to Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Sanofi Synthelabo, Berlex Laboratories, and The Medicines Company. His numerous presentations have been funded from unrestricted educational grants.
