The Genetics of Thrombophilia* - Also from NATT, this brochure by Elizabeth Varga, M.S. discusses the inherited clotting disorders covered in the presentation, including factor V Leiden and prothrombin G20210A. The science of genetic inheritance is also explained. Ms. Varga is a genetic counselor.

  4. Family Testing for Clotting Disorders* - Also written for NATT by Elizabeth Varga, MS, this brochure discusses some of the social issues involved with deciding whether you or family members should be tested for clotting disorders and how to talk about the issues.

  5. APS Foundation of America, Inc. - The APS Foundation of America maintains a website with information on antiphospholipid antibody syndrome and related issues. Their mission: The APS Foundation of America, Inc. is dedicated to fostering and facilitating joint efforts in the areas of education, public awareness, research, and patient services in an effective and ethical manner.

  6. FVL Thrombophilia Support Page - This website is run by a patient who has factor V Leiden (FVL). This support site has information on FVL and other hypercoagulable conditions, but it is worth noting that not all of the information presented comes from healthcare professionals.
